my language
I'm Laura Kliušenkovienė, a photographer based in Denmark. Why photography? Because through the lens the world opens up in a new way — slower, quieter and full of details we usually miss when we rush.
Being seen has always mattered more to me than being known from magazine covers. Enjoying the process itself matters more than worrying whether every photo will please everyone. I take criticism not as an insult but as motivation to grow — after all, my biggest dream is to open my own photo gallery.
The creative process lets me slow down the pace of everyday life. You can always return to the same place, but never to the same moment. A photograph preserves a feeling and an emotion that lived for only an instant — which is why every picture tells its own story. That is what photography means to me.

A moment
of trust
I took this photo in 2016 — it is one of my very first photographs. One look, one smile, and the moment speaks louder than a thousand words. When it was recognised in an amateur photography competition, I realised that photography is more to me than a casual hobby. Since then my camera has travelled with me more and more often, and I share the moments I capture with others.

In 2022 this photo was selected as one of the ten most beautiful photographs of Haderslev Municipality. It was exhibited for a time at the Haderslev tourist information centre and can now be seen in Sønderborg Municipality.
